Fridu by Bakua is born from the meeting of Frida Kahlo's life and the Mexican distiller's craft: three expressions at 41°, raised with the elegance, character, and freedom she taught us.
The story of the 41%
A destiny, not a whim of alchemy.
Why do all our spirits proudly bear that 41% alcohol by volume? Behind the mystery stands our Frida Kahlo — who, at exactly forty-one, painted a «Self-Portrait» commissioned by her good friend, Dr. Samuel Fastlicht: dressed in a Tehuana gown, her face traced with tears that cannot hide the deep sorrow of her spirit.
It was also in that pivotal year that our painter, with iron will, chose to rejoin the Mexican Communist Party — an act that aligned her once more with Diego Rivera, her great love and her torment.
And so, while the mystery of the 41% remains in the glass, Frida's life offers us a mirror in which strength of spirit and art are inseparably entwined.
